After my daughter started going to school for the first time and we were all sick all of the time, I decided that we needed to get serious and really try to use more preventative measures to help keep us healthy! And, what better way to do that than to drink fresh-squeezed orange juice every day?! So, then the journey began as to how we would manage to make that happen. I started with a hand juicer, which lasted for a few weeks, and then did some intense research until I came across the Vinci Hands Free Citrus Juicer. The only proper way to describe it would be to say that it has been life-altering in helping us to achieve a much healthier household. I would have never been able to have kept up this habit with a hand juicer!

What is the Vinci Hands Free Citrus Juicer?
It turns out, it’s the best at-home citrus juicer you can find! It is an electric citrus juicer that works great for any type of citrus, but especially for oranges. It is easy to assemble, easy to clean, and continues to work, orange after orange after orange! Even when it seems like you have juiced way too many oranges to make a glass of orange juice, the juicer keeps working and does a great job at getting as much juice possible out of the citrus halves that you place in to juice. This citrus juicer will help you save your wrist, while helping you to live out your healthy lifestyle and enjoy as much juice as you want!
What’s the difference between a hand juicer and an automatic juicer for citrus?
A hand juicer is just as it would seem: you cut the citrus in half and then push down and twist into the hand juicer. When using an automatic juicer, you cut the citrus in half, then place it pulp down on the juicer, and instead of twisting it yourself, you just close the lid and push a button and it juices the half for you! It is significantly faster, more efficient, and easier to use an automatic juicer.

Vinci Hands Free Citrus Juicer Parts
There are seven different pieces that come with the juicer, and two of them are the same (just different-sized filters), so you are always only using six pieces at a time while juicing. The different parts that make up the Vinci juicer are as follows:
- Motor Unit
- Coarse Pulp Filter
- Fine Pulp Filter (use this one if you want less pulp and want to keep out smaller seeds)
- Reamer
- Holding Cone
- Juice Bowl
- Lid
How to Assemble the Vinci Hands Free Citrus Juicer
Here is what you need to do to assemble the juicer:
- Push the holding cone into the lid.
- Connect the lid to the juice bowl (push the clear button on the back of the juice bowl down and the two lid pieces will fit in like a puzzle).
- Connect the juice bowl to the motor unit. You will need to place the bowl down and twist it in to place.
- Place the desired filter into the juice bowl.
- Place the reamer on top of the filter.
- Ensure that the lid can close properly, and start juicing!
You can see the video below for more step-by-step details.
How to Juice Using the Vinci Hands Free Citrus Juicer
In order to actually juice the citrus, you need to:
- Cut a piece of citrus in half
- Place the cut-fruit pulp down in the machine onto the reamer
- Close the lid
- Press the juicing button
- Wait for the machine to stop juicing that half-piece of fruit, and open the lid to remove the juiced half
- Repeat!
How to Clean the Vinci Hands Free Citrus Juicer
There are two ways to clean the juicer. You can either wash the pieces by hand with soap and water, or you can put them in the top rack of the dishwasher to wash. All of the pieces come apart and can be washed separately. I have tried washing mine both ways, but actually prefer to do it manually because I don’t run the dishwasher every day and I don’t want to have to wait for the pieces to wash and dry before using it again!
My Experience Using the Vinci Hands Free Citrus Juicer
In summary, it has been life-changing! After my daughter first started school and we were taken down by what seemed to be a new illness every other week, I decided that we just needed to get it together and start drinking fresh orange juice everyday. (Since I’m The Produce Nerd and all, there were no excuses for me not to use the defenses that I know exist and are super delicious!) I started by using our very basic hand juicer (that’s just a small thing you push down on and twist), but very quickly realized that that wouldn’t be sustainable because to make enough juice for four people everyday started to get pretty painful on my wrists! So, after a lot of research, I decided that the Vinci Citrus Juicer was the right choice for us.
We have now been using it for over a year now and have had great success! We probably juice around 160 oranges per month, and after a year of doing that, the machine still works as good as the first time we used it. I normally juice enough each time to last for two days’ worth of juice for us (after that, the juice just doesn’t taste as good), so I’m juicing a lot at a time. The best part is that it is so simple, and with the just one push of a button, my kids can also help me with the juicing and get excited about it as well.
I really like this juicer and after surviving the past year with us, I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to up their juicing game!
Pros
- It is easy to use. All you do it cut the citrus in half, place it in the juicer and push one button for it to start juicing.
- It will save your wrist from having to juice by hand.
- You don’t have to do any peeling to get the maximum juice output.
- The small filter does a great job at filtering out the seeds.
- It juices faster than a hand juicer.
- It juices just as much, or more of the citrus than if you were to juice the same piece by hand.
- It is easy to wash, and can even be washed in the dishwasher!
- You can buy replacement parts if you need to (luckily, we haven’t had to yet). (Also – note that at the time of this posting, you could only buy replacement parts directly on their website.)
- Drinking fresh orange juice will always be a pro in my book, no matter how you get it! The benefits of drinking freshly-squeezed orange juice are endless!
Cons
- Even though the juicer is faster than juicing by hand, it still takes a while to make a couple glasses of juice (but, in all fairness, it also takes a lot of oranges to produce that much juice, so it’s not so much a con of the juicer!).
- There are six pieces to wash after every use (compared to just two smaller pieces with a hand juicer).
- Compared to a commercial citrus juicer, this is way slower and is more work placing each individual half. But, for the price and size, this makes the most sense to have in the house.
- It only juices citrus, and no other types of fruit.
Conclusion
Overall, I would recommend this juicer. It has been very reliable for me this past year, and, as a result, my family has been healthier! There are things that I wish were easier, such as juicing faster and washing itself(!), but this is the best I have found for at-home juicing.

What stores in Australia sell the Vinci Juicer?
But does it juice well smaller fruit like limes and lemons?
Limes would be the only one I would question, but I have done the small clementine/mandarins multiple times, and they definitely juice. It’s just a little bit sloppier during the juicing part because the half of the fruit kind of moves around more as the machine moves up and down to juice.
